Idle Posts

I figured we’d gone far too long with the name of the blog being Confessions of a Beirut Game and had far too few confessions and no Beirut at all. I’ve decided to change that today Confessioners.

As I’ve discussed in other areas, I’m pretty much addicted to the song “Mt. Wroclai (Idle Days)” by Beirut. I’ve listened to it about 50 times in the past two weeks. Which is an amazing feat when you realized that the 100th most played song on my iTunes is at 55sd1 over a 2 year period. So I’ve decided to share the song with you. Hopefully you’ll enjoy it and we can remain friends.

Here embeds a (fan made) Video for the song “Mt. Wroclai (Idle Days) by Beirut.

More info after the jump.

There is actually a small mistake in the video. The third second line is missing for some inexplicable reason.

Lyrics:
Song: Mount Wroclai
Album: Gulag Orkestar
Artist: Beirut

And I know when time will pass by slow
Without my heart, what can I do?
You’re in the halls; the bell gives way to a larger swell
Without my heart, what can I do?
Oh Wroclai (x5)

And we grow fat on the charms of our idle dreary days
Seen the shadows grow, see an ominous display
With no alarm could we say we’d have expected this way
Under stars have died, give incent to play
Wroclai
Oh Wroclai (x5)

Oh Wroclai (x5)

Video of it being performed live

sd1:(In case you were wondering, a) It is “Full Circle” by Aerosmith and b) yes I do obsessively track these things (back).

  1. The Flying Club Cup is one of the best albums of 2007. No doubt.
this Condon guy is so talented.
Check out this post about his former project. He did some amazing music even before Beirut was formed.
