(rg to some ecards)
As you may or may not know I have an unhealthy addiction to music. This, combined with the fact that I don’t listen to the radio, gives me a musical freedom that most people do not enjoy. This musical freedom allows me to never fall out of love with songs or artists because I only listen to them as much as I want to. Case in point is the band Nirvana (and SouljaBoy for that matter). It’s just stuff that I’ll never grow out of.
(13:12:29) ditriech: still I forget. just what it takes.
(13:12:30) ditriech: ….
(13:12:33) ditriech: carp.
(13:12:39) ditriech: I need to listen to that now
(13:12:46) WoodnShoePimp: what?
(13:12:55) ditriech: smells like teen spirit
(13:13:09) WoodnShoePimp: oh
(13:13:10) WoodnShoePimp: eh
(13:13:18) WoodnShoePimp: i listened to some nirvana a bit a couple days ago
(13:13:25) WoodnShoePimp: and thought, “damn this sounds like shit when you’re older than 15”
(13:13:33) ditriech: haha
(13:13:48) ditriech: …
(13:13:59) ditriech: wait. does that mean im not mentally older than 15?
(13:14:13) WoodnShoePimp: …
(13:14:23) ditriech: I wonder if the judge will accept that.
((13:14:55) WoodnShoePimp: doubt it
(13:14:59) ditriech: damn.
(13:15:07) WoodnShoePimp: “but officer, it’s not statutory rape! i like nirvana!”
So, instead I do things like make the chorus to “In Bloom” in your facebook profile. I quote “Come as you Are” to customers. I once planned to buy a guitar and learn to play only Nirvana songs. Well, Nirvana and Skynyrd.
(14:03:56) ditriech: speaking of which, since working at radioshack the only radio station we play is the sirus radio 90s music station
(14:04:11) PcktBread: excellent!
(14:04:17) ditriech: subsequently, i have fallen in love with green day and grunge music all over again.
(14:04:28) PcktBread: hahahahaha excellent
(14:05:12) ditriech: sure, you say that now. but when you're tired of listening to me play "dumb" on my guitar you wont be laughing then
(14:05:21) ditriech: or smells like teen spirit
(14:05:56) PcktBread: you have a guitar?
(14:06:02) ditriech: yes
(14:06:10) PcktBread: …
(14:06:22) PcktBread: on which you play smells like teen spirit?
(14:06:26) ditriech: not well
(14:06:32) ditriech: im taking lessons again after the first
(14:06:44) ditriech: its the family instrument. britty also has a guitar
(14:06:50) PcktBread: are there some days that you wake up and just say "im going to be a 14 year old white guy today"?
So, for your sake and mine, I’ve decided to share with you a couple of great Nirvana related videos after the jump. Ok, more or less my sake, but that’s not the point. The point is that there are many artists out there that have decided, for whatever reason, to cover “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. So here you go.
